Proyecto Excelencia
About the Program
Proyecto Excelencia is named in recognition of the importance of providing effective mechanisms of support to foster educational excellence (excelencia) among students at Texas State University (TXST). The project (el proyecto) has three overarching goals to improve services for all students at TXST.
Academic Help Center
The Academic Help Center will provide wraparound services for students during and after their first year at TXST.
TXST Transfer Center
The primary goal of the Transfer Center is to increase transfer student success and timely graduation through a variety of activities including transfer navigation and articulation support.
Course Transformation Project
Transformers: Course Transformation Project facilitates TXST faculty professional development on relevant, equity-minded approaches and instructional methods that support student success.
Serving TXST Students
Texas State University was designated a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) in 2011. Currently, Hispanic/Latinx students represent 39.7% of the student body.
